Course Summary
This course is designed for firearms instructors to become proficient with the knowledge, skills and techniques, needed to train their Officers/Deputies on pistol mounted optics for duty use. Course will cover fundamentals and capabilities of pistol mounted optics, proper sight in techniques, correct procedures for mounting optics to pistols, and techniques for red dot acquisition.
Course Requirements
Students must have an active WLEA Firearms Instructor certification in order to attend this course.

Equipment List
- Handgun with red dot mounted optic
- Duty belt with holster and magazine pouch for handgun and magazines
- At least 3 magazines
- Any optic tools and spare batteries for optic
- Eye protection (clear and dark lenses)
- Hearing protection to include earmuffs or earplugs
- 1000 rounds of frangible ammunition in the caliber of students handgun
IMPORTANT NOTE
The WLEA dormitories will be under construction during this course. HOUSING FOR ADVANCED TRAINING STUDENTS IS NOT GUARANTEED. Students will be notified of housing availability after the course registration deadline.
